Description

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Shipfitters for a project located in East Boothbay, ME . This is a first shift opportunity and the pay rate is $26-30/hour for local candidates and up to $24/hour for travelers based on experience and skill level plus $130/per diem for travelers 60+ miles from the job site. Job Scope:

• Work with presses floor, shaping forming plates ,shaping from templates, marking symbols doors, hatches and scuttles rolls, presses and blacksmith shop

• Lay out blueprints and outfitting items. Laying out blueprints, checking and fitting materials, tack welding of various subassembly's to the panel line and shell area such as decks, bulkheads, side shells

• Work on ship ways with the erection of units and installation of structural items

• Installation of structural outfit items, doors , ladders foundations

• Shop and field fabrication

• Tack welding

• Lay out and fabricates metal structural parts such as plates, bulkheads and frames and braces them in position within hull of ship for riveting or welding

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 5+ years of recent shipyard experience

• Must be able to read blueprints and Template creation

• Ability to use hand and power tools

• Ability to run overhead cranes is preferred
