Bending- ¼, 3/8, ½ - NO HEAVY WALL-Simple tubing
No Stove piping
You will be seated at a 4x8 table with a box on it. Frame of box is 2x3x2. There will be 3 male fittings on one side and 3 female fittings on the other. You’ll be given 3 sticks of tubing that are 6 feet long. You need to bend from A to B.
Key to test: You MUST be able to take measurements, mark the tubing on all 3 sticks before bending the first tube. You will fail if you can’t do
Prior to beginning a project, an instrument fitter must thoroughly read and comprehend a blueprint in order to understand how to perform the installation.
Cutting and Bending Pipes
Using special machinery, instrument fitters cut pipes based on the specifications on a blueprint. They then bend the pipes manually, to fit the layout.
Using a variety methods, such as caulking, gluing and welding, an instrument fitter connects pipes so that they do not easily separate.
Instrument fitters are responsible for acquiring and maintaining an arsenal of tools, including chisels, hammers and wrenches. These tools are necessary to complete every project.
5 years of experience in instrumentation
Possess a current certification or degree in instrumentation
Understand schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications required by our client
Experience working with hand tools, power tool and electronic test equipment such aspressure gauges, mercury manometers, potentiometers, pulse and signal generators, oscilloscopes, transistor curve tracers, ammeters, volt meters and watt meters.
Ability to work safely from ladders, scaffolds and lifts
Strong working knowledge of job site safety as well as ability to complete a company specific safety orientation
