Requirements

An Outside Machinist performs major and specialized mechanical overhaul and repair work on marine equipment and systems using schematic charts and technical manuals. Also tests marine engines and equipment to determine need for repairs or adjustments, repairs and maintains hydraulic equipment and valves, operates hand and power tools associated with marine engine and equipment repair.

WRITTEN ASSESSMENT ON BELOW-

• Ability to: read blueprints, sketches & tech manuals

• Identify basic shop & precision tools and knowledge how to use them

• Calculate basic math as relate to job (standard not metric) including decimals

• Identify dial indicators & gauges and how to properly read them

ALL CANDIDATES MUST BE DBIDS ELIGIBLE- MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A DOD BACKGROUND CHECK- NO FELONIES WITHIN THE LAST 10 YEARS OR MISDEMENORS WITHIN THE LAST 5 YEARS
